printer indicates the ID sensor adjustment error. If this error code
displays on your machine, then you can't continue your work until you fix it.
There may be some causes behind this error.
Some Possible causes:
- Presence of dust or dirt on the ID sensor.
- Defective ID sensor.
- Defective ID sensor shutter.
How can we fix the error code sc400?
- Check the ID sensor: open the side cover and remove the ITB unit. Now you can see a shutter. Open it, there you can see 3 sensors as shown in the picture below. Clean the sensors with tissue and a cleaner. Check the harness of the ID sensor.
- Check the secondary transfer: Clean the contacts of Secondary transfer roller and check if it working properly or not. For that, open the side cover, there you can see the secondary transfer roller. It's located on the side cover. It's the roller which directly touches the ITB unit. Clean the roller with a cloth. And Check the contacts and the spring of secondary transfer roller.
- Check the ITB unit if necessary: If the life of the intermediate transfer belt ends, the id sensor loses its ability to sense. So the error comes. Replace the ITB unit if necessary
- Replace the BCU.
