Xerox WorkCentre 5016/5020 Error Code U4 reset |
How error codes are occurring:
The fuser is not warming up. On that machine under the web there is a thermal fuse on a white plastic mount, it has one screw through it. It is most likely blown. Possibly caused by a jammed paper in the fuser unit, that fusible link needs to be replaced.
The maintenance sign means that the copier needs to be well serviced and checked if something is to be replaced. Consumables such as drum, blade, fuser rollers, and developer are changed at such times. If you are sure that you have replaced the correct part or nothing is to be replaced, then you can proceed to clear the sign.
Meaning of the Error Code:
This is U4 codes on Xerox work, Centre machines relate to the fuser unit. You will find the rollers fail to warm up or reach the correct temperature. Most often the heater roll inside has burned out, or sometimes the overheat thermostat goes open circuit both problems will require the fuser unit pulling out of the machine and a test meter to check the continuity of the components.
How to Fix the Error Code:
Do not worry if you get this error, in some rare cases you can solve it by a very simple process. Following the reset procedure:
