How to solve paper jamming:

Clearing Paper Jams If the copier displays a paper jam message, look for paper in the locations indicated in the figure, and then see the procedure for clearing the paper jam. There are many places in a printer where a small piece of paper can get stuck. It's not always a sheet of paper. Open all the access panels and check the roller track for pieces of paper. If it is clear, unplug the printer for a few seconds and then plug it back in. This should clear the problem if it was in error. Also, check the paper feed for too many sheets stuck together jamming the feed. Before loading paper always "fan" the paper first to avoid sheets being stuck together.

Follow the procedure described below to remove the jammed paper.

  • Open all covers, look in there also. It only takes a tiny piece of paper to cause it to say that. Use a flashlight; have had to use one to find several that ways.
  • Open the door and you should see the jammed paper. If not then you have a faulty sensor or switch. Clean it very well, uses alcohol.
  • Open the Fixing unit and change the fixing unit film. Clean the unit properly remove paper tears inside the fixing unit
  • Remove the paper tray. Check that the paper length adjustment is set correctly for the paper you are using. It's the small blue dam at the center 'back' of the paper tray.

Always jams at the fixing unit check the fuser film. Remove the Fuser unit from the machine and manually rotate the gear. If not rotating grease inside the film may be dry, remove all the old grease and apply new grease or change the fuser film with the new one.

If the paper is jamming coming out of the tray try taking the paper tray out and look where the feed roller is located if you get a soft cloth and some form of cleaners like Windolene or glass cleaner rub the feed roller or tires they might have gotten dirty. Also, check the paper path from the tray and see where the jam occur you should be able to see if there is a sensor arm stuck if the jam occurs near the exit also check when the paper comes out if it is curling this shows the paper has picked up some damp. Try with a new paper or put your paper near a radiator to dry out for a while and try again. If it jams near the fusing section, the hot area with the rollers where the paper passes through there is guides there that might have been knocked out of place you may also see a build-up of toner on these. Be careful it is hot here so wait before you stick your fingers here.

To avoid tearing the paper, pull the jammed paper out slowly and carefully. Follow the instructions in the following sections to clear the jam.
  • Do not overload the tray. Ensure that the paper level is below the paper capacity mark on the inside of the tray.
  • Do not remove the paper from the tray while your printer is printing.
  • Ensure that the recommended side of the print media is facing up in the tray.
  • Check that the paper length adjustment is set correctly for the paper you are using. It's the small blue dam at the center 'back' of the paper tray.

I hope that this should work for you and will resolve the issue.
