Do you get the signal to replace R8 fuser counter on your Xerox WorkCentre 7120, 7125, 7220, 7225 copiers? The following instructions describe how to reset the fuser counter for a Xerox work center copier machine. You'll save a lot of money by just waiting for the units to fail before replacing them. They'll last longer than the reset counters.
Each HFSI item has its own code. You must reset these codes because they cause you to pop up a message on the screen when they reach the reset counter and can cause the machine to go down till reset.
Maintenance sign means that the copier needs to be well serviced or something has to be replaced like Consumables such as drum, blade, fuser rollers, and developer, etc. If you are sure that you replaced the correct part. or the machine doesn't need to replace any part, then you can continue to clear the sign.
How to Fix the Error Code:
Do not worry if you get this error, in some rare cases you can solve it by a very simple process. The fuser page count has been depleted at 100K prints, and then the machine declares to Replace the Fuser message because it is almost worn out. You have to reset the fuser HFSI counter in diagnostics mode. Do it and you'll just need to replace the above said parts when they actually fail and cause either jamming or poor image quality problems following the reset procedure?
- Press and hold 0 for more than 5 seconds then press start batten.
- Use the numeric keypad to type passcode “6789” and select “Confirm”.
- Now you are in diagnostics mode.
- Press the Machine Status key button at the left side below of the panel.
- Touch the “Recursos or Tools” button at the right side top of the tech screen.
- Go to page 2 with a down arrow and tech “maintenance/ diagnostics”
- Go to page 2 with a down arrow and tech “Adjustment / Others”
- Then touch the “HFSI counter”.
- Select “954 - 850” (fuser Count) then tech “Details”
- Select “Reset Current Value”. Then tech “rest”
- Then press “Close” the right side top of the touch screen, and "power OFF" and wait until 15 minutes, then “ON” the machine, now your fuser Counter replaces signal is solved.
If this doesn’t work, you may have a bad fuser assembly. Replace the fuser unit or mainboard needs to be replaced.
To do this, reset the counter then max out the life counter to "99999999". Max out these 4 chain links to keep the machine from going down due to an HSFI counter hitting its programmed limit.
- Transfer belt = ITB 954-820
- Transfer roller - 2nd BTR = 954-821
- Transfer belt cleaning unit - ITB cleaner = 954-822
- Fusing unit = 954-850
I hope this was helpful, don’t forget to share it via any of the share buttons on this page are highly welcomed as well.
