Meaning of the E000012 Error Code                                              
The E000012 error code refers to the ITB Driver motor or Drum motor, rotation error. ITB or Drum, driver motor is not rotating at the specified speed. Maybe something keeping the motor from running, like an up twisted blade with drum unit or ITB unit. If the waste toner driver or cleaning assembly is binding the error code could occur. Refer to E075 if the ITB is displaced.

Maintenance sign means that the copier needs to be well serviced and checked if something is to be replaced. Consumables such as Toner, Drum, Blade, Fuser rollers, Pickup roller and Developer are changed at such times. And also check the changing consumables are original or not .Always use spares having good quality. If you are sure that you have replaced the correct part or nothing is to be replaced, after ensuring these things, you can proceed to clear the sign. Always call experienced technicians for servicing.

How to fix E00012 Error Code?
To resolve this issue, there are 4 wheels and 4 encoder sensors on the main drive box, give them all a good clean the encoder sensors, wheel can be a fiddle to get off. Check the Drum and cleaning blade, ITB cleaning Blade and if the Drum is ok check and replace Drum Driver motor.

1.     Check the drum unit.
2.     Check the ITB unit.
3.     Check the Drum and ITB Driver motor.
4.     Check encoder sensors.
5.     Check the gear with Drum motor.
6.     Check its connectors.

If you find your parts, then replace the parts and error still remains, after automatically reset the error code. If the error is still showing even after above solutions, then you have no choice other than calling Canon service technician.
