Meaning of the Call for service code L4-45.

The code L4-45 stands for Toner cooling fan (NFANS0085FCPZ) error. It has two cooling fans. One is situated just above the black drum unit and another one is near the yellow toner cartridge. The part number of this fan is NFANS0085FCPZ. This error may occur due to many reasons,

   • If the fan is unable to detect the operation indication.

   • PCU PWB error.

   • Connection error between the connector and the harness.


The fan becomes unable to rotate if the above causes occurred and then the machine shows this error code.   Turn on the machine and check the fan is rotating or not. If not replace it.  you can't see the fan is working or not. so you have to check it by placing a new fan. You can remove these fans very easily. First, remove the transfer Unit, and Black imaging unit. You can see two screws for each fan. Remove that screws and take the fans outside.


Method to solve the error code L4-45

  • Replace the Toner cooling fan (NFANS0085FCPZ). Replace both fans if needed.
