Meaning of the Toner indication Error:

 The E Studio 166 Toner Light Indicator means the toner is empty. Now you need to replace the original toner cartridge. Then you can see the toner symbol is now gone. Your problem comes up again, the toner symbol needs to be reset in service mode. It's easy to do.

Resetting the Toner symbol:

Follow this procedure to reset the toner:

1. Torun off the switch.
2. Press and hold “0 and 8” while turning on the machine (You are now in Service Mode).
3. Press “695” and press the “start” button (you will get a counter, now you need to reset it),
4. Type “0” and press the “interrupt” button. Then switch off the machine and back on. You should see the toner the symbol is now gone.

Make sure to use the actual toner with the toner chip. If the toner symbol reappears, check it all out.

Some possible cause:

• Change the toner cartridge.
• Check the Toner detection inside 6 springs.
• Check toner motor and gear.
